Welcome to Our Family As We Know Them

Cherokee Rose

We are currently attempting to put together a TIMELINE for Grammy Polly's Lifetime!  Any contributions are very welcome!  Please contribute - We need to know more about her life and how she lived it and where she lived it!  We have reports of her living for a while in California and Oklahoma but we need more specific info such as where and dates and perhaps what she was doing there in these two places. Hoping to hear from you soon!

August 2011 - We are taking a look at Levi Luallin's possible connection to our Robert & Hannah Lewallen!  Any and all help greatly welcome!
Visit this site and read the two letters young Levi wrote to his mother in 1850.  In the first letter Levi mentions visiting the home of
'onkel Robert Luallin' and their plans to meet up and join a wagon train on the way to the Gold Rush!
Levi was living with his mother in Fulton County, Ark.  Levi also had relatives in Grovesprings, Missouri as well.

We now have a copy of Keziah's Funeral Card; although it does not give her mother's name, it shows her father as 'Babil'  Lewallen.  We are now left to wonder if that name was a 'nickname' or an Indian name,   We must keep in mind who the informant was - her husband died in 1913; we do not know who the informant was.  He died between 1849 and 1860; that is a span of approx. 50 years, give or take a few!
We also now have a copy of Sarah Emmaline Lewallen Hogan's Death Certificate:  Gives father as Lewelan born Tenn.  Gives mother as Hanah Ford born Tenn.  Also shows Sarah's birthdate a Oct. 26, 1844 in Missouri.  She died March 14, 1912 in Chautauqua County, Lafayette Township, Kansas.   Undertaker: O.E. Westlake. St. Clair, Kansas.  Burial: St. Charles Cemetery.  Informant:  C.E. Hogan.  Hannah died 1860/61; so this covers a span of abt. 60 years!
